When you ask young adults today who their favorite music idols are, it is likely that Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, or Drake might top the list. When I was in high school, my superstar was Barbra Streisand. I had every one of her albums and watched every one of her movies. One of her songs, “People Who Need People,” is still well-known today, because, as the song says, they are “…the luckiest people in the world.”.
An article from The Hoffman Institute argues that it is important for humans to interact with one another because it stimulates brain development. By socializing with others, certain chemicals in our bodies are released that assist us in our physical, emotional, and intellectual health and well-being.
At St. Michael’s School, we are committed to providing a caring and nurturing community for your children to learn and grow. They are each embarking on their own faith and academic journey and with the help and support of not only their family, but also their teachers and friends, they will achieve exponentially. We also hope to provide that same sense of community for our parents and extended family members. We want to join you in celebrating your families’ joys and successes, and we also strive to assist you in prayer and encouragement during times of distress. We all belong to the Crusader Family, and, as such, we hold each other up.
To that end, I am excited to see you at our annual Crusader Benefit this Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 6:30 PM in the Holy Family Center. This 60th anniversary celebration is slated to be one of our best community events ever, as we reflect on the prolific history of our school, step back in time to an era of “Peace and Love,” and enjoy the company and camaraderie of one other. We are People Who Need People, and we truly are The Luckiest People in the World.
